From the kitchen of Alicia Wingren

2 6-12oz. steaks, (we like tri-tip or sirloin)
10 Tbsp. butter
1 c. mushrooms, sliced
1/4 c. onion, minced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. salt

Melt 4 Tbsp of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute the onions until they are translucent (about 1-2 minutes). Add the mushrooms and the salt (it will help the mushrooms release their juices). In a separate bowl mix lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Once the mushrooms are tender and reduced to about half the size add the garlic and stir in well. Greatly reduce heat or turn off. Melt 2 Tbsp of butter in the skillet. Salt and pepper both sides of steak. Cook the steaks in the butter over medium-high heat, turning them once, for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium. While the steaks cook for the last two minutes turn the burner back on under the mushrooms and onions and melt the remaining 4 Tbsp of butter. Once it is melted, pour in the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and combine. Once the sauce is hot remove from heat. If you overheat, the sauce will separate. It will still taste good, but it won't look as nice. Serve the steaks with the buttery mushroom sauce piled on top.
