Ingredients
2 Tbsp dry yeast
2 cups milk
3/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs, beaten
8-9 cups sifted flour
Instructions
Preheat oven 400 degrees
Scald milk, when cooled slightly sprinkle in yeast. Add melted shortening, sugar, salt, and beaten eggs. Add flour and knead. Let rise until doubled in size.
Use for either dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, orange rolls, or spread with a filling and roll & bake as a loaf. Sugar and cinnamon can be added to dough when mixing and use as a loaf. Should make about 3 loaves. Bake time 12-15 minutes.
To brown flour easily: Put a little flour in a heat proof dish when you're using the oven and leave it there until the flour turns a rich brown color. Store it in a jar in the refrigerator.
