Meringue Cookies

From the kitchen of: Dawn Corbin
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips

Beat the first 3 ingredients, on high with wire whip mixer beater. Once very stiff add sugar in small amounts beating after each addition until all the sugar is added. Remove from mixer and fold in chips and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased pan. Bake 300°F for 25 minutes. They should only be lightly browned. Can be doubled, but only add an extra 1/2 c. of chocolate chips.
