1 pkg. dry baby Lima beans
1/2 lb. bacon or ham bone
1 lg. onion, chopped and browned
1/2 c. ketchup
1/2 tsp. dried mustard
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1. tsp sugar
salt to taste after first hour of cooking

Rinse and sort beans. Place in large kettle and cover with water 1 inch above beans. Bring to boil, boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat let stand for 1 hour. Add browned onions and ham bone or bacon, ketchup, and spices. Cover and cook over low heat, for 2 to 2-1/2 hrs. Check occasionally to make sure it isn't getting to dry. If it is add a small amount of water as needed. To check for doneness, see if beans are tender.
